Who we are

Allergy Owl was created to make life with food allergies simpler, safer, and less stressful. We know how overwhelming ingredient labels, restaurants, and everyday food decisions can be - so we’re building tools that bring clarity when it matters most.

Our mission is to empower people with food allergies through intelligent, personalized guidance. From discovering allergy-friendly recipes to sharing clear allergy info with others, Allergy Owl helps you navigate everyday eating with more confidence and less guesswork.

We believe food should bring comfort and connection - not anxiety. We’re here to help you feel informed, prepared, and supported wherever you eat.

Meet the Founder

And we’re not alone. Food allergies affect millions of families across the country. Roughly 33 million Americans - and 1 in 13 children - have at least one food allergy. That’s about two kids in every classroom. For parents and caregivers, that means everyday food decisions can be high stakes.

What has always surprised me is that there still isn’t one place to go - one app that truly pulls everything together in a way that’s easy and trustworthy. Most families end up piecing it together themselves: notes on their phone, screenshots, various recipe sites, social media groups, and a lot of trial and error. That’s what we’ve done too. And for years, I kept thinking: someone should build the tool that actually makes this easier.

After graduating college, I decided that this is exactly what I would do! I’m super passionate about building this app the right way and helping others as they navigate these issues safely.

I’ve grown up my whole life with a long list of food allergies—peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, soy, dairy, peas, and sesame. And when you live with that many allergies, it impacts everything. It’s not just what you can eat—it’s what you can cook, what you can order at a restaurant, how you travel, and how much you trust food that other people prepare. It’s a constant mental burden that never really turns off.

My family has carried that weight with me, especially my mom. For as long as I can remember, she has spent countless hours helping me navigate ingredient labels, hidden allergens, substitutions, and the never-ending “Are you sure this is safe?” conversations.
